FIFA president promises to accelerate new reforms

A month after his election, FIFA president, Gianni Infantino wants to accelerate reforms.

The issue was at the heart of his visit to South America on Monday.

The boss of world football governing body is pleading for more transparency and good governance, and insists on “zero tolerance for corruption”

“We will have financial resources. That means we must all work with maximum ethics, transparency and good governance. We will apply zero tolerance if someone does not meet these conditions,” said Infantino

Infantino promised in his election manifesto that he would “rebuild trust” after sealing 115 votes in the second round in Zurich to take the world football’s top job, now the real work begins.

Faced with continuing corruption investigations and forthcoming court cases against FIFA’s top officials, the task facing Infantino is daunting.

Infantino also announced that FIFA would invest $ 1.4 billion in the development of football.
